here i am... or i'm supposed to be
2 more classes left in my intro to drawing class. we finally moved on to people. our assignment today was to draw ourselves from a mirror. i am not very good at copying things exactly as they are-as per above drawing but its much more fun then it was before at least, next week we move on to bodies, and then last class we have a model... over the weekend i am going to attempt to draw myself again, i never tried and i can't get over how diffucult it is, but i'll sit there till i figure it out
Caitlin Power F/W 2010
here are some images from the Caitlin Power show on friday, march 26th at the bank. i couldn't find any more shots so here are my two favorite looks from head to toe
Climb and Run for Wilderness
i am officially registered for the annual climb for wilderness event at the calgary tower on april 17th. it sounds awful but i never ever ever do anything for charity, the last time i did anything for charity was when i walked in the art-rageous show at acad to raise money for student scholarships. i don't belive in charities, i think that if you want to help you should do it first hand and not go through money grabbing businesses (even if they are not for profit, because if anything business school taught me is that everything in business is for profit) 1 dollar to charity and 1 dollar in your pocket just does not cut it for me. charities are a rich man's excuse for a tax write off. PFFFF! BUT i decided to do this climb. my brother told me he doesn't belive i can do it. if anything i thought people were going to make fun of me because walking up the calgary tower does not seem like that big of a deal. in poland elevators in 10 story buildings would always break and we'd have to walk up to the top floor, not that im saying that the tower is 10 stories but you know, for my strong legs its more like 4, haha. plus if it is going to be any kind of charity, one that includes cuddly little defenseless animals seems right to me. so here i am all registered, only 19 days left.
Jason Matlo F/W 2010
jason matlo's show was the opening show for the last day of alberta fashion week. after seven days of everyone's hard work this was an excellent way to close. jason's clothes were amazing, his knits were so comfortable and amazing to wear, i am fairly certain that those things could make anyone look good. his fabulous gowns were adorned with sequins (my favorite) and snake skin patterns. the strapless snake skin dress i wore was my favorite piece, it was heavy so it created movement and looked killer on the runway. i hope to see more designers like this come through calgary in the future.
Day 7

TWINS
a couple of days ago American Apparel had a friends and family night, Caleigh's sister Julia works there and she invited us, so among other things i purchased this tie-dye scarf, of course Caileigh had it as well, and today we both wore it to work, there is nothing more emberassing then two freinds who dress alike. maybe if we went to the same school we could be nomited for the cutest freinds section in the yearbook haha. either way we are preety much the coolest right now
i love CHICKEN, i love liver, meow mix, meow mix please deliver
colin way also shot a great chicken, his is the real thing and by also i mean he shot a great chicken, i just took a picture of one from my car on the way to yoga
i am obsessed with asian models, they look like dolls. i can not belive how beautiful they are. and i just love this story that is in the upcoming issue of vogue china (http://fashiongonerogue.com/2010/03/25/du-juan-by-quentin-shih-vogue-china-april-2010/ ). i want to make one themed around poland, it would be spectacular, just need to get a team together and try to persuade them to come to poland to shoot a creative.. piece of cake (or pie in jasons case)
papaya does WHAT?!
my co-worker offered me some papaya today, i have never had it before, it tastes like a sweeter cantaloupe for those of you wo have not ventured to those dangerous waters yet. what i found out though is that papaya apparently makes your breasts grow, i didn't believe it so i googled it (of course) and its true... there are those who belive it is anyways and who write about it on the internet haha. i will say that i wont be eating anymore papaya anytime soon. (don't feel sorry for me though, feel sorry for the guy who has never had a grapefruit in his life)
