towards the end of may we shot a look-book for John James Jewelry. today we went to drumheller, alberta to shoot the second part, which was more editorial, the inspiration was the apocalypse (barbarella/ blade runner etc.). we lucked out with the weather, it was amazingly hot, but it really added to the atmosphere of the shoot. the landscapes were also very epic (aka the word of the day), the badlands and the hoodoos created an out of this world kind of feel. the whole team was, as usual amazing, and it was overall a great day. here are some behind the scenes photos as well as a sneak peak at the magic that happened, the amazing jewelry as well as the great makeup and styling:
with the amazing weather came the bugs... lots and lots of bugs (bug spray and sunscreen make for a deadly combination, i am pretty sure i am toxic right now)
the amazing catering, nothing better than fruit and juice on a hot sumer day
marta trying out the turban look, very hot right now
one of the four amazing pieces we shot today, this one weighted about 5lbs
the classic terry thumbs up. marta and alicja
last shot on the hoodoos. we were hoping for the tourists to have deserted the site by then but there were still some onlookers, being more pissed off then curious at our presence
the whole group after the last shot (i guess the tourists came in handy for something after all, moments like these are so rare): jeff, marta, ania, erin and alicja
i have become dangerously obsessed with these gorgeous miu miu shoes. i have never owned a pair of designer shoes, but i really really want to and i started saving up to buy them. trouble is that whatever i save towards them i end up spending on some other clothes. it's a never ending circle of pain for me. i am currently about $650 dollars away from calling them my own. and this is in american dollars. yikes! looking at the bright side of things i could also put away money that i would spend on food, i could get skinny AND own designer shoes. it's a win win. i like that plan the best so far. what else is there left to do?
i have encountered a problem. here is how i solve it. this is for you pamela... this is not me, but right now i wish it was
finally a sunny day. i spent it in kananaskis country with my family for father's day, we walked along the coast of the lake which was actually at some point also a substantial part of that lake. so all of the trees that once grew there are now just a bunch of dried up branches, but they are beautiful, all silver and inspiring, i took some photos of the great patterns and shapes i saw together with the bones we found. nude is in so these fit right at home. all in all a successful walk on the beach.
i took my red h&m blazer (think garden collection circa 2010) for a walk today, first time since i bought it a couple of months ago. i was very excited, here are the only two slightly un-blurry photos i managed to salvage from rob's not too phenomenal time with the camera (they keep telling me he will learn, i am still waiting), complete with oil stains and patches on the grass in the back alleys of gas stations and butcher shops... if life were only the way it is in the movies
i was just featured on the aritzia blog in their fan fare section. (yey me!) i love that store (for everything from their clothes to their decor to the staff and their style) and yea it's too expensive for what i am wiling to spend most of the time but i always find a way to own something from their collection. if it was up to me i would drape myself in wilfred and talula babaton all the time. click here to check out the post.
