it's been a while i know. my life has been exclusive to waking up going to work and then immediately after falling asleep, the same routine non stop for the last two weeks, the last two weeks of april, so naturally it is expected. best thing that has happened so far (because not much is really happening as of late) is that i got my government refund in the mail. i hope you all did your taxes already. this weekend will be extra busy, with the comic book convention happening in calgary, i will be picking up my passes today and hope to be posting from it all weekend. make sure you check out my instagram for a live photo feed (@aniab). for now here are some photos of karleen i took a couple of weeks ago, when we had sunshine still. seems like summer is already over and it hasn't even begun. regardless i am excited about these, she adds much needed color to the recently dreary mood of the blog and much more detail this time, the girl knows how to accesorize <3. enjoy. xoxo

i have been religiously checking h&m for this mesh tank that i have seen in their magazine. if you know calgary very well you know that the h&m here has a long way to go to equate what we all see internationally (bummer!), yet i have been hoping BUT clearly calgary has been deprived of the mesh privilege, that or the word is out that we are the coldest place on earth. i satisfy myself until then with my love of shoes. these jeffrey campbells, however didn't seem to last me too long. one night of dancing the you can view the results after the jump (the ones of you who follow me on instagram @aniab would have already seen them). it just has not been my week. also i say, i would make an excellent product critic, let me tell you i am not easily impressed. are you looking forward to the weekend as much as i am? xoxo

here's a little interesting video for you for today's post. in december, some 24 hours prior to leaving on our california road trip, i shot a video with kaelen ohm and wilkosz & way. it's modern and it's different, caitlin power provided the clothes from her spring collection (which you can now get at leo boutique btw... orange stripe cropped blouse! holla!) and kent merriman did the set design. i don't know, i mean i was sent an audition today and it only makes sense now ;) my obsession with siguorney weaver may reach new heights now. in all seriousness, however, i think i will stick to modeling for now <3 the weather in the city has become dreary. i am feeling sleepy and super idle. while everyone (and their dog) is at coachella this week i will be taking more street style photos. i have met some amazing new people and hope they will inspire you just the same. and of course it may be time for a first bike ride this weekend. fingers crossed. you can view the full video below or click here for the link. xoxo

an amazing new leather brand out of the uk. i am obsessed with this jacket. so rare to find an over sized leather that doesn't look like something from your father's closet circa 1983. the rest of april, as i am buried underneath a stack of papers (it is tax season in canada right now) i will be working towards this one. read more about muubaa here.

when most people talk about iceland and music, they’re usually referring to sigur ros or bjork (plus perhaps múm and amiina, if they’ve explored a tiny bit deeper). now you can be quite certain a new band will be added to the mix. of monsters and men are a six-piece hailing from reykjavík, and include 3 guitarists, 2 singers, and a guy who dabbles in the accordion. ever since arcade fire won the grammy for best album, you kind of knew there was going to be an outing of soundalikes and copy cats. while of monsters and men certain have a similar kind of melodramatic flair to their music, they also set themselves far apart from those they’re likely to be compared to with a rich, swelling sound that could easily be described as icelandic folk music with a mean streak. no fancy video for you, but here’s the first song off the album to give you a taste. image source: https://www.facebook.com/ofmonstersandmen

there is only two days of voting left for the chinook centre stampede style-off. so far i have had amazing help from all of my facebook friends and blog readers. it's possible to still get ahead and get more votes in before it closes on april 4th. in the end i am happy for any of the girls from this round to win, this has been such a great team to work with all the way around and what a wonderful experience. never can you just walk into a store and pull however many items you want for a shoot. before it's all over this week i wanted to make sure i had a chance to share with you the outfit i put together. it really puts me in the western kind of mood, as usual it also gets me revved up for summer, that seems to be taking her time to get here. i am also leaving you with some of the videos accompanying the look (after the jump), in my defence they were totally taken first thing in the morning... can you spot the sleep in my eyes?
