on track

zara jacket and shoes, h&m cap, blouse and shorts

please don't persecute me for this post title, but i couldn't help myself. all those times i wanted to take a photo and use a cliche pun like this... even though nothing is really on track at all. there is nothing really to be on track to begin with. for the first time in a while i am lucky to say that i am just living life and enjoying coming up with creative projects and things to do. no drama and no worries, and a vacation to look forward to at that, which i am sure 'they' will make me feel guilty about as usual. breathe, stay calm, and carry on. i feel like a lot of things are changing in my life, there are things about myself i am learning as i grow older, things that i have also noticed in my older freinds as they have been at this similar stage in their lives. there are others also, who are moving on (they know who they are), the city feels different as well. through all my frustrations i am learning that maybe to leave things be is the only solution. complaining until you are blue in the face just doesn't change anything, that only works on family and people who love you haha! the thing is to do your own thing, disregarding the surroundings. so maybe there is a track, and if so i do feel like i am on it after all. i am looking forward to this summer, more than i have ever before, there will be lots of pictures to take and a lot of people to meet, and it will be ok just to be normal, which i guess has always been a fear of mine. on a side note, if you haven't heard through the grapevine that is facebook about our clothing sale next week and are in the calgary area check out all the goodies we are previewing on our event page HERE. i will be posting all the detials for the sale tomorrow so stay tuned. xoxo

mercedes

silence & noise romper, very volatile shoes, betsey johnson tights, vintage hat

i have become so preoccupied with this photo that all the other ones just didn't seem to fit. i don't know why but this is such a great spot to me. it just needs an empty lot across the street instead of a big suburban home and it doesn't even appear as though this is calgary. i love how out of character it looks.

there's no party like an east village block party

it was great to go out tonight and take some good old fashioned people photos. we all know of course how difficult it is to get quality street style around here, so when i was told about the sled island collaboration with the hifi club on this block party in the upcoming east village (and by the water front nonetheless) i put my exhaustion from working long hours this week aside and headed down to the party. you would know it wasn't a fantastical event if i wasn't blogging about it the night of. i saw some amazing people and heard some wicked new music (thank you small town djs, but in the end thanks to a couple of good friends who regularly attend the whole dj scene). and the trends? i think it's safe to say neon is king. can i also just say HELLO CALGARY, can we have more events like these, especially during these short summer months. how amazing to spend an evening outside, listen to some great music and watch some great people (and hugs for and by everyone). and how about those bike path closures (june may be bike month... in 2013), i'm still waiting to do some well deserved cardio. dancing will suffice for now... i leave you with the james curd remix that, yes, i shazamed today while in public. sounds pretty good to me. xoxo

as always, head over to my BannerFans.com page for more photos

under the evening sun

zara skirt, topshop necklace, bcbg cuffs, ysl shoes

editing photos is THE worst! i spent the last bit contemplating wether people are going to laugh at me if i post the last photo, it almost looks like an accident, half way through something, but in the end i have to be the one to like it, and i do, so that's all i have to justify posting it ha! so just imagine a dance and that's exactly what i'm doing, preferably some kind of  hot spanish flamenco dance under the hot scorching sun... that we actually don't have yet. kara from park, jennie lyle and i have decided to sell off our closets, on june 30th you can come and share in the festivities (for all event info CLICK HERE). full purging started this weekend with me cleaning out a good portion of my sartorial related belongings, i have resolved to try and live a less materialistic life (aka less shopping), it ended with me installing a new faucet in my kitchen, which brought me much excitement. back to the sale though, we have some very stylish boys bringing their designer goods for sale as well so don't shy away just because you can't wear them high heeled shoes. and of course i will be reminding you in every post for the next two weeks until i finally instagram the piles of cash i am about to make. and see those ysl shoes. they may or may not end up in the said sale, check our event page for updates. xoxo

06.14.12 @sitinteriors

remember the times when you went to an event and rushed home just to upload photos to your blog because you were so wound up with the excitement of it all? i do, those times seem to be very few and far in between anymore, but tonight is such a night. a local designer furniture store, domicile opened a sibling pop up shop, sit. open until october, sit caters to the young professionals who don't have all the money to spend but who want to live in style... naturally that would be us all (big sigh). sit has been collaborating with local artists over the last few months and hosting events in their space to facilitate community growth. i have been to two of these events so far, and so far it's a 100% success rate. maybe it's something about the space, or maybe these are just some amazingly organized individuals in tune with what the public thirsts for. caitlin power was the guest designer at tonights' event, showing pieces from her fall 2012 collection, wetting our appetites for her sample sale with park this saturday (click here for more info on this weekend's event). the show was an installation more than a runway presentation, with the models lining up together in a formation before leaving the floor. the live music, the models and the crowd all exceeded my wildest expectations. tonight held all these elements that used to get me excited about blogging. and so i am staying up editing and writing because it's something i do not want to sit around (pun not intended). sit is having a summer filled with more exciting events, including a show by the high performance rodeo and another fashion collaboration with haithem elkadiki. for more information and to stay updated on all of those visit their blog http://sitinteriors.com/. i don't recommend missing any of them. xoxo

h&m fall 2012

wicked new collection from h&m this fall. you've probably seen most of these images on the web already over the last weeks. on my last visit to the downtown h&m i had a quick chat with one of the managers about the situation of our trend line here in calgary. turns out, or so the promise states that we shall be getting the full collection of the trend line starting fall 2012, which also includes the margiela collaboration coming in november, so no more one day getaways to vancouver. that is something worth celebrating. also it is the last two days of voting for the lifetime collective looks so please take a minute to go and vote for your favorite outfits HERE. xoxo

here is another boy for you, but i promise it will be just girls from now on. sometimes, though, when one comes along that you can not resit you just go for it. here is our jordan in all his street style glory. remember the photos i took for vincents blog (click here... and scroll down)? he will be leaving us soon again for the big scary world to do amazing things i'm sure. for now i'm happy for the opportunity to be able to take photos of my good friends. i'm back on track with outfit photos which i will be posting again in a few days' time. xoxo.

interiors

a friend of mine is moving into a new space, she is doing renos around the house and as a result i get to look at all the amazing apartment blogs and design ideas. my obsession with white has since deepened and if it wasn't for my attachment for material things i would strip down my whole place, pour some concrete on the ground and live with one couch and a fireplace. please and thank you. they say as you get older you lose that said attachment, so maybe there is hope still, till then drool with me at these amazing photos of other people's interiors. the pyramids and clothing rail come from annaleena.se, a swedish freelance interior stylist, and my newly found hero. xoxo
