dreaming

helmut lang sweater, millou dress, top shop shoes

trying to get back into the groove of things. i don't have a ton of new things to report, basically broke after my week in la (with a suitcase full of treasures to photograph for the blog), i will be doing that for the next few days until i get caught up with everything else in my life. till then i will be dreaming of la, and then other places too. making plans and setting goals. photo by rb. xoxo

elfee

just a couple of quick shots of elfee from my trip to la. she is wearing all vintage so i am not including any outfit tags. it's amazing what you can find if you only ask for it. omar was so great to pass along some of his stylish contacts my way. i wish i had more time to really get into photographing people in the city. for now this is what you get. such an amazing face to capture on film so to speak. xoxo

stampede is long gone, it was another great year, even if there didn't seem to be anything different about the 100th year anniversary. it ended for me so much sooner because of my trip to california but i am really happy with the photos before it was all over. now that i'm back it feels like it's been much longer than one week. it was the most relaxing vacation, however. because i've been there so many times i finally had an opportunity to sit back and relax and just take it easy (shopping included). it's always sad to leave venice, this time though i feel like even though i left so much behind again i have also gained something potentially much more amazing <3 i'm hoping to be posting tons in the next few weeks, i've also decided to start a project i won't talk about yet but which makes me super excited. it will also soon be one month count down to burning man. that's all. xoxo

old navy x model milk wrangling in the stampede

so i guess this is it for stampede this year. today is officially the last day and i don't get to be there which  i was expecting to be much more upsetting than it actually is. instead i get to relax by a fire in venice, bike by an empty dark beach, and potentially have pink berry to end off a great night. i say potentially because i AM also trying to be responsible (ie. no desert past 6pm)... oh and did i mention opening ceremony and american rag <3 this year the stampede has surpassed my expectations ten fold. i am already a big fan and yet i was actually sad to see it end. with my assignment for fashion i was so pleasantly surprised to get all these great individual styles right at home. it all came and went so fast but not without amazing events to start it all off. old navy threw a cocktail party at model milk to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the stampede together with a contemporary take on the classic denim bar. i ended the night happy with a new pair of rockstar skinnies that i much coveted together with an extreme appetite for all the amazing food served (blackberry lemonade... need i say more?). be sure to check out bizento's write up on the event HERE. i will be back sporadically during the week, but i am actually working on a couple of things for the blog here in la so i hope it all turns out so i can share with you. xoxo

here is it. the first of my two instalments on stampede street style (or more so street style during stampede) for FASHION magazine. i was hesitant whether i will be able to gather enough material for a substantial post but after editing over 200 photos it looks like a great set from the first weekend out to the grounds. when the time calls for more 'traditional' stampede gear i won't have problem finding the right people, but i was looking for something more unique and i think that the turn out was pretty amazing. by far the best part of the stampede has got to be the indian village out at the grounds. seeing all the first nations people in their colourful and, some, elaborate costumes is really inspiring. makes you wish we had more opportunities to be around that beautiful culture. stay tuned for the next post later in the week. for those of you who came to my blog in search for your photo and have not seen it yet make sure to check out the fashion magazine blog (CLICK HERE) and my always trusty facebook page. xoxo
