naomi
forever xxi skirt, vintage denim shirt, lai a.lai vest, apt22 necklace, ecote boots
zara tee, skirt & heels, forever xxi necklace, h&m socks
forever xxi dress & rings, bcbg boots
i took a photo of naomi along 17th ave when i was shooting for fashion stampede style. i used the wrong lens, her photo came out too blurry to use, thankfully she was wicked enough to contact me and follow up that i got another chance at photographing her. nothing short of cool summer style. as i'm posting these it's way past my bed time, but happy monday nevertheless. xoxo
holy slip-offs!
complex geometries top, h&m vest and pants, custom chuck taylors by slip-offs
photos by tyler stalman
a couple months ago i was given the opportunity to pick an image to be painted on a pair of canvas shoes. the idea is simple: customizing your own shoes. shauna mae, the brain behind slip-offs hand paints every pair based on the customer specifications, images and/or ideas. you can send in your own shoes or chose from her selection. the possibilities are endless. it took me some time to decide what i wanted on my slip offs and finally, to feed my obsession, i settled on the native american theme. i have been looking for an amazing head dress painting for a while but couldn't find anything up to my standards (and in my price range), the arrows are the tattoo that i one day dream about. for now neither of those are happening so i shall don them both on my feet instead. you can contact shauna on her facebook page or visit the slip-offs site. happy customizing! xoxo
tripp
tripp nyc pants, wilfred sweater, asos body suit, alexander wang boots
this is soooo overdue. i found it on my computer the other day browsing through photos, trying to organize myself and my blog. the perfect pair of plaid pants, the perfect brand. my first pair of skinnies (even before skinny jeans were an every store kind of find) was from the tripp store in new york city. not sure if that qualifies me as old or not, i will never forget the satisfaction of the at-the-time amazing find. still got the same haircut so i guess that makes it semi-relevant. photos by rb. xoxo
coup boutique x malorie urbanovitch
a couple of weeks ago luanne and i took a quick trip to edmonton for the launch of malorie urbanovitch at coup boutique in edmonton. the photos have been kicking around for a while now but i wanted to make sure they get on here sooner rather than later. both because i loved LOVED coup and i want to be able to feature our stylish neighbours, many of whom i have met for the first time thanks to the blog. every trip i take to edmonton has so far been somehow planned around shopping at west edmonton mall. this was entirely different and as a result i saw so much more of the city, which i fell in love with, maybe because everything was relatively new to me and looking at it with my blog in mind i saw a ton of great spots to shoot and feature on the site. i will be going down there soon before the summer's end to make sure that i have not missed my chance this year so stay tuned. right now we are out the door to enjoy our 30 degrees of what is left of the best summer to date. xoxo
drive-in
topshop bralet, mink pink jeans, zara shoes
looking through a backlog of photos on my computer i realize i am running behind on posting. i have been trying to squeeze in a lot of activities in a short period of time (working on the september blogger issue of freq magazine, making appointments, organizing my life, trying to shoot all the things sitting in my living room that are waiting to be blog loved etc etc.) it never ends, which is hardly reason for complaining, which i am most definitely NOT doing. just checking in, saying hello and making sure you have tons to look at. we took these photos right after coming back from la, so they are 100% inspired by my trip, a reason for me to love them even more. photos by rb. xoxo
@bcbgeneration calgary official opening 08.09.12
it happened so fast. bcbgeneration went all out with amazing catering, a great dj and a photo booth with endless possibilities to create the perfect shopping experiance. the entire bcbg team were so good to work with. always a pleasure to see all the familiar faces and meet those new ones who follow the blog. for the first time i fell in love with macaroons, which i usually only enjoy visually, but the yann haute patisserie really changed my mind. make sure to check out the bcbg store at the core downtown as well as check back on the blog for some wicked new outfit posts. after all i couldn't leave empty handed. professional hazard i guess. my dress is bcbgeneration. all photos by me and tyler stalman. xoxo
acceptable in the 80's

vintage levi's jacket and cut offs, brandy melville top, zara heels
la inspired me infinitely to revisit the 80's. the weather and the ability to do absolutely anything you want with style without having judgement passed on you made it easy to fall back on what i find most comfortable. upon my return home i have gotten numerous stares and even some snarly remarks on the street from passers by. standard. the more the merrier, yet i can't shake the need to rock some amazing high waisted shorts. one of my new favorite places to shop has become brandy melville usa, a fully unassuming store i would normally pass on because of the hoards of teenagers inside, EXCEPT for carrying one teaspoon and operating as a one size fits all kind of an establishment. and twenty dollar tank tops, forty dollar back packs and four dollar jewelry, so yea, kind of amazing. photos by rb. xoxo
you're invited!
the official opening of the new (and first in canada) bcbg generation store is around the corner (less than one week away). i visited the store a few days ago to see the space and take a browse through all the product, i picked up a few things for the event and then some. fell in love with the lace trimmed silk shorts and cute knits. stop by and say hello next week on august 9th when i will be hosting the opening. check out the dj, the photo booth and get inspired by the new fall looks. see you all there. xoxo
iris
aritzia tank top, american apparel shorts, vintage denim shirt & boots, h&m sunglasses
h&m top, vintage hat, zara pants, kimchi blue platforms
american apparel top, vintage skirt, rachel roy earings, topshop ring, kimchi blue platforms
vintage tank top, american apparel shorts, kenneth cole bracelet, h&m sunglasses, brown's shoes
i shot iris before going to la and finally am getting to post her outfits. such a great eclectic girl with amazing style and an amazing apartment to match. her and melody make the perfect roommates and they top it off with an all girl band with pink glitter covered guitars. if that's not inspiring then i don't know what is. check out more photos of iris on my facebook page, the girl knows how to pose so well i had a hard time deciding which to use. right now i'm getting ready for the bcbg generation store opening next week (august 9th) where i will be hosting and helping customers style their outfits. i will be posting an official invite on the blog towards the end of the week so make sure you book it off. it will be the first bcbg generation store in canada, which, no lie, is kind of a big deal. for major brands to move into our city with readiness and excitement is always an amazing thing to see and i am proud to be a part of it in such a big way. xoxo
